Our Mission

Oak of Life Ministries exists to equip the body of Christ, and lead those who are broken, hurt, and lost to a new Redemptive life in Jesus Christ.

About Me

Welcome! I’m glad you’re here. For 14 years I have served and currently lead over the counseling ministry at a local church in San Antonio, Texas, and for the past 6 years, I’ve been working as a certified as a biblical counselor. It has been incredibly rewarding to lead our counseling program for the last 5 years, where I’m passionate about helping people experience growth and transformation in their lives.

I hold three Biblical certifications, which guide my approach to supporting individuals and families on their journeys. Outside of my ministry, I’m happily married to my beautiful wife, Natalie, and we have two amazing boys who fill our lives with joy.

I am also the owner of Oak of Life Ministries and CEO of Oak of Life Counseling which is a Non-profit organization geared to help those in need of counsel.

I believe in the power of connection and community, and I’m excited to continue walking alongside others as they find hope and purpose. Thank you for visiting my page!

Why Biblical Counseling?

Biblical counseling offers a unique perspective that you won’t find elsewhere. While secular counseling often approaches issues from a worldly standpoint, frequently categorizing unresolvable problems as disorders, biblical counseling seeks to address the root causes. Many forms of Christian counseling adopt secular methods while incorporating Christian principles, but biblical counseling goes further. It focuses on overcoming habits not just through management techniques, but by identifying and confronting the underlying root or lies that contribute to those habits.

Marriage and Pre-Marital counsel

1 Corinthians acknowledges that all marriages will encounter challenges, and no relationship is immune to the enemy’s attacks. My marriage counseling focuses on identifying how these attacks manifest and providing strategies to overcome any issues you may be facing.

In premarital counseling, I guide couples in understanding potential areas of vulnerability, drawing from their upbringing and early beliefs. This preparation helps them unite as one before the Lord, equipping them to face life's challenges together.

Addiction & Crisis Counseling

With 14 years of experience in leading addiction group counseling, I have had the privilege of helping many individuals break free from deep-rooted addictions and behaviors, including anger and alcoholism. In our sessions, whether you’re grappling with substance abuse or a persistent habitual sin, you will discover a pathway to freedom and hope. Through the application of biblical principles and healing from past wounds, I guide you on a journey towards lasting change and restoration. Together, we will navigate your struggles and empower you to reclaim your life.

Helping Military Families

One of the key reasons I opted for certification instead of a license was to better assist military families through counseling. Licensed counselors are regulated by the state and may be required to share notes or documents when requested. However, under Section 503.054, I am exempt from those regulations, allowing me to provide support in a more confidential manner. This enables me to help service members address challenges such as anger, PTSD, depression, anxiety, sexual abuse, and other issues that could impact their career advancement.

Helping Foster Families

My wife and I were foster parents for three years, and we’ve gained a deep understanding of the challenges that come with that role. Foster parents often face a variety of struggles, whether it’s emotional battles or difficulties with the foster child. I’ve been fortunate to help foster parents recognize the reasons behind these feelings and to cultivate healthy perspectives, fostering stronger connections for both biological and foster children. My goal is to support foster families in fulfilling the mission that God has called them to.

COMING SOON!

I’m excited to announce that my book, Restoring Redemption, will be published soon! I can’t wait to share the insights the Lord has given me. This book aims to reveal how the enemy seeks to destroy us every day and offers a unique approach to combatting these attacks that hasn’t been explored before!
